Transfer Talk: Man United want Griezmann amid Atletico-Barca impasse

The Ghanaian forward broke her duck for the side with a goal to inspire their first win of the season

Princella Adubea scored her first Spanish Reto Iberdrola goal for Racing Santander as they claimed a 2-0 win over Madrid CFF on Sunday.

The 21-year old striker had joined Pablo Bolado's team from Spanish Primera Iberdrola side Sporting Huelva in August and made her debut in a stalemate against Friol a week ago.

The Ghana international was handed her second starting role by coach Bolado and she delivered the opening goal in their maiden triumph of the season, at home against Madrid.

Having failed to inspire her side at Friol, Adubea opened the scoring for the hosts with a stunning finish after just 14th minute of the tie.

Ten minutes later at Santa Ana, Spanish striker Irantzu Ibarrola netted the second goal of the match to seal the victory for the hosts.

Adubea, who has now scored once in two matches for Racing, was in action for 57 minutes before she was replaced by Elexa Bahr.

The former Ampem Darkoa star will be hoping to continue with her goalscoring form with the Cantabrians following her first goal of the season.

With the result, Racing now has four points from their two opening matches of the season and will next tackle Pozuelo Alarcon on November 8.

Transfer Talk: Tottenham want Zaniolo but Roma boss Mourinho plays tough

The Red Devils were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at Old Trafford, leaving them in 15th place with just seven points in the top flight

Manchester United have made their worst start to a Premier League season in seven years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal on Sunday, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang settling the affair with a penalty in the second half.

The defeat is the Red Devils' third in the English top flight in the 2020-21 season and leaves them in 15th place with just seven points from their first six games.

It is their lowest points tally at this point in the campaign since David Moyes was in the dugout in 2013-14. The club ended the campaign in seventh place that year, with Moyes sacked in April and replaced by caretaker manager Ryan Giggs.

The Red Devils have earned just one point at home in the league this season and this is the first time since 1972-73 - when they finished 18th - that the club have failed to win any of their opening four top-flight games at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer told Sky Sports:  "Home and away form is out the window with no fans in the stadium. You can’t look at that. It doesn’t really mean too much.

"We played fantastic on Wednesday and now we lose. But we need to get points on the board. Now we need to focus on next week and Everton.

"I’ll just keep on working. It is a good group that wants to win, go forward and work hard. Today they will go home disappointed but I know these boys and they will get back at it."

Sunday's encounter was the first time United have been beaten by Arsenal at home since in 14 years. They had gone 13 games without being bested by the north London side, having won eight and drawn five.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang's penalty was the fifth they have conceded in the last seven home matches in the league - the previous five spot kicks had been spread out over 101 games.

Paul Pogba's foul on Hector Bellerin in the home side's box saw the French midfielder concede a penalty for the third time under current boss Solskjaer. He is the only player to give away more than one since the Norwegian took over.

United's next game is a Champions League match against Basaksehir in Istanbul on Wednesday, with a trip to Everton in the league to follow three days later.

Best window ever? - Shop Window's summer transfer review

83' Spurs are sitting deep inviting pressure. Gross fires a ball into the box that Welbeck challenges Lloris for. It spills to Lallana who squares it but nobody is able to get on the end of it.

82' Chances to break through this Spurs side appear few and far between now for Brighton. Webster attempts to find Gross with a long ball over the top but it misses its target.

80' A loose pass from Webster is intercepted by Son. He immediately looks for Kane but the Englishman has strayed offside.

78' The changes have definitely made a difference to the Tottenham performance. The game appeared to be slipping away but they're back where they want to be now. Can they see it out?

76' That's Bale's first Tottenham goal in seven years and 166 days, having scored on his farewell appearance for the club against Sunderland back in May 2013.

71' POST AGAIN! Spurs have a corner and Bale's flick-on finds Kane at the back post with the goal at his mercy. It's a tight angle, however, and the Englishman's effort comes out off the post. Huge let-off for Brighton.

69' Some signs that Tottenham are starting to come back into this game after being outplayed for the majority of the second half.

68' POST! Lamela is given too much space to shoot and almost makes Brighton pay. Sanchez is beaten but the post saves him before Veltman gets it out for a corner.

66' Brighton have a corner and Gross whips in a nice ball. Webster rises highest to meet it but he can only glance his header out for a Tottenham throw.

63' Brighton are by far the better side here and continue to attack the Spurs defence.

61' STAT! That was Tariq Lamptey's first career goal.

59' GOAL STANDS! After going to the monitor himself, referee Graham Scott has ruled that there was no foul. The Tottenham players can't believe it, and neither can I.

55' Ndombele dispossesses White but that only feeds March who takes on Sissoko. The Frenchman is forced to concede a throw-in deep in his own half but Brighton can't make anything of it.

53' Hojbjerg is able to continue. Brighton are in possession before Gross gives away a free-kick for a foul on Sissoko. Neither side have settled in this half so far.

51' Hojbjerg is down and receiving treatment. Mourinho has told Winks to warm up just in case.

49' Spurs win a free-kick and Kane dinks it in for Son who loses control of the ball before ambitiously claiming for a penalty. Sissoko recovers possession and feeds Kane who nutmegs Bissouma before claiming for a penalty himself. Neither are given.

48' Veltman surges forward from defence and is allowed all the way to the edge of the Tottenham area without much resistance. His attempted pass goes out for a goal-kick, but that was too easy.

47' Son wins an early free-kick after being clipped from the back by Webster. Ndombele gets on the ball in the opposition area but he is crowded out and Brighton come away with it.

46' Tottenham get the game going again. No changes for either side.

Having gone a goal behind, Brighton rallied and enjoyed the majority of possession for the rest of the half without creating much in the way of clear-cut chances. If they can keep the deficit to one, they'll be confident they can get something from the game. For the home side, after dominating the game early on, Mourinho will be encouraging his team to reassert control and push for an early goal in the next period.

Kane's penalty is the difference between these two sides at the break after what has been a fairly dull first half. Son's delivery was cleared initially before Lallana crashed into Kane right on the edge of the area. Having initially been given as a free-kick, VAR officials stepped in and awarded the penalty which Kane dispatched with confidence.

45' + 5' HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 1-0 BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION

45' + 5' Lamela tries to shoot and it's straight out of play.

45' + 4' The Tottenham free-kick will be the last action of the half. Can they make it count?

45' + 2' Brighton knock the ball around nicely between defence and midfield before Bissouma attempts a ball over the top to Lallana, but the former Liverpool man can't bring it down and it's out for a goal-kick.

45' + 1' There will be three minutes of added time.

45' Bissouma, who has been solid in the middle, is down momentarily after a coming together with Sissoko.

44' Tottenham continue to try and play out from the back. Reguilon is under pressure and tries to offload to Son but he is dispossessed.

42' The visitors play it short before the ball is played in. Burn is on the end of it but can't connect with enough power to trouble Lloris who gathers.

41' Brighton win a free-kick on the left that March whips in. Spurs clear but the ball is recyclyed back to March whose next attempted cross is deflected out for another corner.

37' Veltman's challenge on Kane give the home side a free-kick and a chance to get their foot on the ball.

35' Gross turns Sissoko before feeding lamptey in space. His pass sets up Trossard for a shot on goal but it's well blocked before the linesman raises his flag for offside.

33' In this phase of the match, Brighton look like the team who are sitting comfortably in the top half of the table.

31' Lallana's cross from the right is overhit and Tottenham clear. Bissouma regathers and finds March on the left whose delivery is headed out for another Brighton corner.

29' Brighton win another corner but Spurs defend it well. They need to reassert themselves in this game.

27' Lallana, Gross and Lamptey are linking up nicely. They work the ball into the box before Lallana's pass to set up Gross is intercepted. Encouraging signs for the visitors.

26' Brighton continue to come forward and win a corner. Gross steps up and whips in a nice ball that is just too high for Webster.

24' No penalty! The VAR officials were quick to rule that one out.

23' Lamptey is found in acres of space on the right flank. He feeds the ball to White whose delivery is just out of Trossard's reach. But wait. The Brighton forward is claiming he was fouled by Doherty. VAR is having a look.

21' SHOT! Son intercepts an attempted pass from Webster before charging down the field towards the Brighton goal. He works space for a shot but his effort flies over the crossbar.

19' Spurs are enjoying almost 75 per cent possession so far and are knocking the ball around nicely. Reguilon plays a ball over the top intended for Son but Veltman covers well.

17' Harry Kane has had a direct hand in more goals than any other player within Europe's top five leagues this season (6 goals, 8 assists). Deadly!

16' Looking at the penalty call again, it is so tight as to whether it's a penalty or a free-kick. It's a harsh one for Brighton.

15' Bissouma drives forward as Brighton look to get back on level terms. He loses his balance as he attempts to shoot and his effort is easily blocked.

12' In fact, after a quick VAR check, it's been given as a penalty. Kane will have the perfect chance to give Spurs the lead.

11' Spurs are being afforded plenty of time on the ball. Ndombele feeds Son in the box and his delivery is well dealt with initially before Lallana concedes a free-kick right on the edge of the box.

9' As always, Lamptey is looking lively for Brighton.

7' The corner is a poor one and Lamptey is off up the right touchline. He is scythed down by Ndombele however.

7' Son delivers from the left again but it's blocked and out for a corner. Good early pressure from Tottenham.

5' Lamela is popping up everywhere. He starts another move from the right this time before switching the play to Son on the left. He feeds Reguilon who turns and shoots, forcing Sanchez into an early save.

3' CHANCE! Brighton are on the attack but it comes to nothing and Spurs break. Lamela is found on the left wing and his ball across the face of goal is inches from giving Kane a tap-in to open the scoring.

2' Lamptey wins an early free-kick which is played forward to Trossard who tries to hook the ball into the box. Tottenham gather and enjoy some time on the ball early on without causing any trouble.

1' KICK-OFF! Referee Graham Scott blows his whistle and we're underway here in London.

Both sets of players are making their way out onto the pitch and kick-off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is now just a couple of minutes away.

Here’s a stat for you: Tottenham have won each of their last four home league games against Brighton (including all three in the Premier League), since a 1-0 loss in October 1981.

In contrast, just two changes for Brighton from the team that drew with West Brom. Robert Sanchez replaces Mat Ryan in goal and Neal Maupay is out. Leandro Trossard plays up top with Pascal Gross filling in on the right.

As expected, Mourinho has rung the changes. Only Hugo Lloris and Sergio Reguilon survive the chop from Thursday’s European game. In come Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Matt Doherty to join him in defence, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko replace Harry Wiinks and Giovani Lo Celso in the middle. Tanguy Ndombele and Erik Lamela start and Son Heung-Min reunites with Harry Kane. Bale starts on the bench, while Steven Bergwijn, Dele Alli and Carlos Vinicius aren’t included in the squad after being hooked at half-time in Belgium.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION SUBS: Mat Ryan, Danny Welbeck, Andi Zeqiri, Steven Alzate, Alexis Mac Allister, Bernardo, Davy Propper.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION (3-4-2-1): Robert Sanchez; Joel Veltman, Adam Webster (c), Dan Burn; Tariq Lamptey, Ben White, Yves Bissouma, Solly March; Adam Lallana, Pascal Gross; Leandro Trossard.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUBS: Joe Rodon, Lucas Moura, Giovani Lo Celso, Joe Hart, Ben Davies, Harry Winks, Gareth Bale.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (4-2-3-1): Hugo Lloris (c); Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon, Toby Alderweireld, Matt Doherty; Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Moussa Sissoko; Son Heung-Min, Tanguy Ndombele, Erik Lamela; Harry Kane.

Their opponents travel to the capital hoping to snap a four-game winless streak. Graham Potter’s side have arguably deserved more from their performances this season, but it’s a cut-throat business, and they are languishing down in 16th in the table. Team news to come.

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham come into this one on the back of a disappointing Europa League defeat to Royal Antwerp after which Mourinho criticised his fringe players for failing to make an impact. However, in the league, they are looking to make it back-to-back wins which would see them move into second place.

Barcelona Identify Benfica's Darwin Nunez as Potential Luis Suarez Replacement

The Juventus striker recently missed out on a Champions League clash with Barcelona but is now back in the fold with the Italian side

Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he feels healthy after recently battling the coronavirus, declaring: “Cristiano is back."

The Juventus star missed several matches, including a Champions League clash with Barcelona, after testing positive for the virus during the international break.

Juve lost that match against Barcelona, but the Portuguese star's return did guide the Italian champions to a victory over Spezia on Sunday.

Ronaldo scored the second and third goals in Juve's 4-1 win, coming off the bench in the 56th minute before finding the back of the net three minutes later.

The forward added a finish from the spot in the 76th minute as he was joined by Alvaro Morata and Adrian Rabiot on the scoresheet.

Having been cleared to play on Friday, Ronaldo is glad to be back on the field, as he declared that he is officially back and ready to contribute for Juve.

“I have been stationary. I had no symptoms and I felt good. Today I went back to doing what I like: playing football,” Ronaldo told   Sky Sports.

Serie A is a competitive league. Milan are doing a great job, as well as Lazio and Napoli. We have to work hard, but we are growing.”

He added: “Cristiano is back, and this is the most important thing."

Ronaldo previously criticised the Covid testing process, questioning the accuracy of the Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

"PCR IS BULLSH*T", he wrote, before eventually deleting the comment.

On Sunday, Ronaldo did not want to discuss his original comment, instead looking to move on from the discussion.

"I don't want to talk about it," Ronaldo said. "The important thing is that I came back and we won."

Ronaldo has scored five goals in three games this season, having fired 37 in 46 appearances last season.

In total, Ronaldo has provided Juve with 70 goals in 92 appearances since joining the Serie A side from Real Madrid in 2018.

Juventus are set to face Hungarian side Ferencvaros in the Champions League on Wednesday, with the Italian side currently sitting three points behind group leaders Barcelona.

They'll then return to Serie A to face off with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

Malacia joins United, first signing of Ten Hag era

The former United captain cannot see his old club returning to the top unless Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes changes

Anyone who thinks Manchester United are capable of challenging for titles while Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay and Fred are their options in midfield are living in “cuckoo land”, says former captain Roy Keane.

McTominay and Fred have started three out of United’s last four matches in all competitions since their 6-1 thrashing against Tottenham last month and were once again paired together for Sunday’s clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Matic meanwhile is seen as a reliable back-up, making just five appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.

Keane, however, believes United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is being too patient with the trio as he feels they are simply not good enough if the club wants to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

The former Republic of Ireland international believes Solskjaer should instead experiment with other more dynamic options, including summer signing Donny van de Beek.

The Netherlands international has made just three starts for United since his £35 million ($45m) summer switch from Ajax, none of those being in the Premier League.

“There’s nothing wrong with Man United winning a game 3-1, or 3-2, you’ve got to get on the front-foot," he told Sky Sports.

"Last year, Chelsea scored more goals than them, Leicester scored more goals than them. People talk about Fred and McTominay in midfield, they’ve had their chance, we’ve seen them.

"I don’t think they’re bad players, but they won’t get United back to winning league titles. Tim [Cahill, fellow pundit on Sky] makes a point there about Man United having great players, I don’t see it, I don’t see the great players.

"They have some very good players, but they need to show a bit more. Van de Beek has come into the club, and there’s nothing wrong with biding your time, but if you think Fred, McTominay and Matic in midfield will get Man United back to the heights of winning titles, then you’re living in cuckoo land.

"They won’t, I think they’re good players - I like them - but not to the next level, and that’s surely what United are looking for.”

Man Utd can't afford to gift Arsenal anything in crunch WSL battle

The match had ended 1-1 in normal time before Soy emerged winners on post-match penalties to join the lower-tier

Soy United left it late to beat MCF on post-match penalties, to book a place in the second tier FKF National Super League on Sunday.

The Division One League promotion playoff played at the Utalii Grounds in Nairobi had ended 1-1 in regulation time.

After a cagey first half, Lwamba Bebeto got MCF on the front foot with a 65th-minute goal before Soy United levelled matters in the 77th minute via Timothy Muganda for a 1-1 scoreline.

However, neither of the sides could manage a winner in regulation time, and in the resultant shootout, Soy United scored ten, against MCF’s nine, to seal a slot in the second tier.

On Saturday, Kisumu All-Stars gained an advantage in the FKF Premier League/National Super League promotion/relegation playoff when they drilled out a 2-1 win, away from home.

The second leg has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 5.

Willies Otenda powered the visitors into the lead in the fifth minute from the penalty spot and Vihiga United were unable to find an equaliser before the game went into the half-time break.

Dennis Wafula, who came on in the second half, equalised for Vihiga United in the 76th minute but Otenda returned with his second goal to restore the lead in the 80th minute.

Despite the lead advantage, All-Stars coach Andrew Aruka has maintained they still have a lot to do in the second leg to be assured of keeping their status in the top league.

“The two away goals do give us an advantage but we are not out of the woods yet and we must get the job done in the second leg,” Aroka is quoted by FKF Premier League social media pages.

“Football is unpredictable and anything can happen in the next game, so we can’t afford to be complacent.”

On his part, Vihiga coach Sammy Okoth blamed the team’s early penalty for the defeat, saying it disorganized his plans as the players started to give away balls in the middle of the pack.

“The early penalty undid our game plan completely,” Okoth explained. “We rushed into every decision we made after that and it played hugely to the benefit of our opponents.

“All-Stars’ plan also seemed to like it was geared around creating stoppages as they were too many of them and the game never really flowed.”

Kisumu All-Stars, promoted at the end of the 2018/19 season from the National Super League (NSL), found their maiden campaign in the top-tier tough and now have to navigate the playoffs to remain in the top flight.

They only managed to register eight points, two wins, two draws and 12 losses before the league was cancelled in May.

Transfer Talk: Ronaldo still wants Man United exit despite Ten Hag plea

The Portugal star missed five matches after testing positive for Covd-19 but scored twice on his return on Sunday

Andrea Pirlo says he was waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo to return to action for Juventus after he helped fire them to a 4-1 win at Spezia on Sunday.

Ronaldo had not featured for the Italian champions since late-September because he tested positive for Covid-19 while on international duty with Portugal.

The 35-year-old was named among the substitutes for the Serie A match against the newly-promoted side and was introduced 11 minutes into the second half, replacing Paulo Dybala.

Ronaldo needed just three minutes to find the net and restore his side's lead and then converted a penalty with 15 minutes remaining to round off the scoring.

Pirlo was happy with his side's performance, which lifted them back up to second place in the table.

"We changed our system a bit, we knew Arthur would have been more free to play a little behind. Ronaldo is improving and we were waiting for him," the coach told Sky after the game.

"Both him and Dybala are improving, let’s see how everyone feels in the coming days.

"We always play with four defenders in the defensive phase. I had these players available, when everyone will be back we’ll see how we can play but the setting will be the same.

"We are improving, some players are coming back from injuries and we’ll have time to work on our ideas.

"Slowly, we’ll see in games those situations that we are preparing during trainings. We need to pick up the players between the lines, once we do it, we only need to think about attacking their area.

"I’m trying to simplify the defensive phase with two tight lines, we need to be more aggressive once we lose the ball, it’s less tiring to run five metres ahead rather than track back for 70 metres."

He added: "We played a good match in the second half. We were well placed on the pitch with the desire to win and Ronaldo gave us a hand."

Juventus return to Champions League action on Wednesday when they travel to Hungary to face Ferencvaros. They are second in Group G after two games and three points behind Barcelona, having lost 2-0 to Ronald Koeman's side in midweek.

France boss Deschamps relaxed on Kante role at Chelsea

The Super Eagles stars were in action as the Gers picked up a vital away victory against Alex Dyer’s men on Sunday afternoon

Rangers defeated Kilmarnock 1-0 in Sunday’s Scottish Premiership game to extend their unbeaten run in the 2020-21 campaign.

Undefeated in all fixtures so far this term, Steven Gerrard’s men went to Rugby Park and picked up their fifth away win thanks to James Tavernier’s strike.

The Gers showed great strength in the early stages and just six minutes into the encounter, they created the first goalscoring chance. Cedric Itten found space on the right, cut the ball back for Ryan Kent but his near-post shot was blocked by Kirk Broadfoot.

He soon had his effort from 15 yards kept off, before Nigeria’s Aribo struck a scorching half-volley which went inches over the crossbar.

In the 18th minute, Borna Barisic’s free-kick was met by Connor Goldson in the box but Ross Millen had his hand above his head and the ball clearly struck it – prompting the referee Andrew Dallas to award a penalty.

Captain Tavernier stepped up to beat goalkeeper Danny Rogers for his tenth goal of the season.

They almost doubled their lead in the 35th minute, albeit, Goldson’s header from Tavernier’s corner kick sailed just over the crossbar.

Aribo came close to doubling his team’s advantage but his deflected shot from 18 yards wriggled past the goal post.

In the second half, Rangers continued from where they left off as they searched endlessly for a second goal.

Scott Arfield had his shot blocked from Ryan Kent’s cross before, in the next attack, Alfredo Morelos’ turn and shot in the box hit a defender and went out for a corner kick.

In the closing stages, Killie regrouped in their quest for a late equaliser, nevertheless, that proved futile as Gerrard’s men left Rugby Park with all three points.

Aribo was replaced in the 66th minute by Steven Davis, while his compatriot Leon Balogun was an 86th-minute replacement for Morelos. South African Bongani Zungu midfielder who is on loan from Amiens, was not listed for the low-scoring game.

For Kilmarnock, Congo DR midfielder Aaron Tshibola was handed a starter’s role before he was replaced by compatriot Youssouf Mulumbu with 12 minutes left to play. Nicke Kabamba was substituted for Eamonn Brophy in the 74th minute as Congolese defender Clevid Dikamona was axed for the tie.

Thanks to this win, Rangers remain at the summit of the Scottish top-flight log with 35 points from 13 outings. They travel to Portugal for a date with Benfica in Thursday's Europa League Group D showdown.

Neymar: I 'lived through hell' at PSG with Messi

Mavugo’s late strike denies Zesco United Super League opening victory against Napsa Stars

The Burundian, who came on in the second half, scored late to dishearten Timu ya Ziko

Zesco United were denied a victory in their Zambian Super League opener by a late Napsa Stars equaliser, as the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at the Woodlands Stadium on Sunday.

Clement Mwape had scored the opener for Zesco United early in the first half but a late goal by Burundian international Laudit Mavugo ensured the tie ended in a draw.

New signing Kelvin Kampamba delivered a good free kick in the 11th minute for which Mwape rose and headed past Kenyan goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji to break the deadlock.

The Pensioners had to make a change in the 20th minute when Bornwell Mwape had to walk off after picking up a knock and Chanda Mushili was introduced.

Bruce Musakanya – another of Timu ya Ziko's new signings – would have added a second goal in the 24th minute but his goal-bound powerful shot from outside the area was blocked by congested opponents in the box.

Zesco United thought they had doubled their lead in the 41st minute when Kenyan international Jesse Were scored before it was later ruled out for offside.

Were came close to scoring his first goal of the season again in the 45th minute but his effort went off target just before the teams headed for the half-time break.

An unlucky Zesco United saw their second goal ruled out for offside in the 50th minute when Mwila Phiri scored after a good build-up.

Timothy Otieno – who recently joined Napsa Stars from Tusker – was withdrawn in the 54th minute and his place was filled by Austin Banda.

Goalscorer Mavugo was brought on two minutes after the Otieno substitution as he came on to replace John Sikaumbwe.

Were was substituted in the 68th minute as his place was taken by Edward Tembo while David Odhiambo came on in the 72nd minute to replace Clement Mwape.

Former Kenyan Premier League top scorer John Makwatta was given a chance a minute before the final whistle as coach Numba Mumamba made changes hoping to double the lead in his first league game in charge.

Instead, Napsa Stars got an equaliser when Mavugo collected a neat pass from Luka Banda to ensure the sides shared the points in the season-opener.

Napsa Stars Staring XI: Shaban Odhoji, Aaron Kabwe, Bornwell Silengo, Luka Banda, Luka Ng’uni, Dickson Chapa, Jacob Ngulube, John Sikaumbe, Bornwell Mwape, Simon Nkhata, Timothy Otieno.

Subs: Muchelenganga, Chanda Mushili, Austin Banda, Amos Simwanza, Laudit Mavugo, Daniel Adoko, Lawrence Chungu.

Zesco United Staring XI: Ian Otieno, Simon Silwimba, Mwila Phiri, Clement Mwape, Adrian Chama, Samuel Sikaonga, Jesse Were, Logic Chinga'andu, Winstone Kalengo, Kelvin Kampamba, Bruce Musakanya

Subs: Jacob Banda, David Odhiambo, Edward Tembo, David Molinga, John Chingandu, Lazarous Phiri, John Makwatta

Man Utd legend & England World Cup winner Sir Bobby Charlton has dementia

Manchester United and England legend Sir Bobby Charlton has been diagnosed with dementia.

The 83-year-old's condition was confirmed to The Telegraph by his wife, Lady Norma, who hopes making the news public will help others suffering from dementia.

The confirmation comes just two days after Charlton's former United team-mate Nobby Stiles passed away having suffered from the same disease.

Charlton appeared in 758 games for the Red Devils, making him the club's all-time top appearance maker until 2008, when Ryan Giggs broke his record.

The legendary forward won three First Division titles, the European Cup and FA Cup with the club between 1956 and 1973 before he left to join Preston.

He also made 106 appearances for England and was the country's top goalscorer with 49 goals until he was overtaken by Wayne Rooney.

Charlton won the 1966 World Cup with the national team as well as the competition's Golden Ball.

United paid tribute to their former star, who remains on the club's board, and offered support to his family on Sunday.

“Everyone at Manchester United is saddened that this terrible disease has afflicted Sir Bobby Charlton and we continue to offer our love and support to Sir Bobby and his family," a statement read.

Former England star Gary Lineker tweeted: "Yet another hero of our 1966 World Cup winning team has been diagnosed with dementia. Perhaps the greatest of them all, [Sir Bobby]. This is both very sad and deeply concerning."

Charlton is the fifth member of England's World Cup-winning squad to be diagnosed with dementia, after his older brother, Jack, who died in July, Stiles, Martin Peters and Ray Wilson.

In October last year, a study into the links between football and the disease funded by the Football Association found that former players are three-and-a-half times more likely to die from dementia than non-players in the same age range.

LIVE: Manchester United vs Arsenal

Despite dominating large parts of the first half, Arsenal do not have much to show for their efforts as the sides go in 0-0 at half-time. Arteta's men did create half chances through both Willian and Saka, however, down the other end United will argue that Greenwood easily could have opened the scoring for them.

45' HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 ARSENAL

44' CHANCE! Saka has a free header as he gets on the end of Bellerin's right-footed cross near the penalty spot but heads just over the bar. Willian had initially done well down the left to create the room for Bellerin's cross that found Saka.

43' Rashford has the Arsenal defence concerned as he chests down a loose ball and looks to shoot. Dean has different ideas as he insists that Rashford has handled it and awards the visitors a free-kick inside their own area.

42' The visitors again invite United to press them high up the pitch and play through them, however, this time Saka can't get the final vital touch to slide in Willian as they break over the halfway line.

41' Bellerin does well to find Willian out wide on the right-hand side but the Brazillian wastes the chance as he looks to cross deep to Saka and sends it out of play for a goal-kick.

39' OFF THE BAR! Willian and Aubameyang exchange passes on the edge of the area, with the latter flicking a pass towards Willian, who curls a left-footed shot towards the far post. De Gea doesn't move but the Brazillian's shot falls the wrong side of the bar as it clips the top and sails over.

37' Lacazette is teed up by Aubamayeng at the back post, but the French striker manages to fluff his lines as he completely misses the ball when attempting to take his left-footed shot. Replays show that Lindelof got a little touch on the initial pass to throw Lacazette off his mark.

37' Fernandes, Greenwood and Rashford press as a trio but Arsenal are content to play backwards towards Leno and retain possession with just under 10 minutes left in the first half.

35' Lacazette spins past two United midfielders and plays a short pass to Willian, who attempts to chip a ball to Aubameyang at the back post but Lindelof gets a little toe on the pass to deflect it out of play. Dean fails to see the touch and awards United the goal-kick.

34' The visitors play effectively through United's press, however, the move eventually breaks down as Partey is fouled before Arsenal can progress further up the pitch.

33' Saka makes an audacious effort to switch the play to Willian but the pass is well overhit and trickles out for a United throw-in.

32' The Red Devils are winless in their three home league games so far this season (D1 L2), last failing to win any of their first four at Old Trafford in 1972-73. In fact, United are winless in their last five league games at home, their longest such run since February 1990 (6).

30' Aubameyang is lucky to escape a booking as he slides in late through the back of Fernandes to gift United a set-piece 40 yards from goal. The Portuguese midfielder takes it but Arteta's defence deal with the aerial threat and clear down the pitch.

29' Elneny beats three men with a drop of the shoulder and then tries to release Saka but Wan-Bissaka matches the England international for pace and intervenes before Saka can trouble De Gea.

27' Saka and Aubameyang attempt to link-up but the latter fails to flick a pass around the corner and Wan-Bissaka gets the chance to intervene.

24' Wan-Bissaka carelessly gives the ball away and then adds to his woes by fouling Saka near the byline on the left. Willian takes the free-kick but, again, doesn't beat the first United shirt in the area.

21' SAVE! Rashford finds Greenwood at the back post and the youngster drives a left-footed shot towards the near post which Leno is forced to save with his feet.

20' Arteta's side have definitely had the better of the opening 20 minutes, with United rarely getting any decent possession, however, the score remains at 0-0 so the visitors have nothing to show for their good start.

19' Tierney looks to find Aubameyang with a curled pass down the line but Maguire is there to shepherd the ball out for a United goal-kick.

17' Greenwood thinks he is in after Fernandes' pass, but the assistant's flag is up for offside, much to the relief of Tierney and Gabriel.

16' Holding clatters into the back of Rashford's head as the centre-back goes up for an aerial duel and United will have a free-kick inside Arsenal's half.

15' CHANCE! Bellerin reaches the byline and fizzes a right-footed cross across goal towards the back post, all Aubameyang has to do it get a touch for a tap-in but he can't quite reach it to open the scoring.

13' Lacazette gets a bit too carried away and brings Fred down near the centre circle which allows United a bit of respite and the opportunity to knock the ball about round the back as they look to work an opening.

11' Saka carries the ball over halfway before Aubameyang and Partey exchange passes outside the area. Saka eventually finds himself in space on the left of the box but can't manage to drag a cross back in the direction of Lacazette at the back post.

10' The Gunners have won two of their last three top-flight games against the Red Devils (D1), as many as they had in their previous 15 against them (W2 D5 L8). Indeed, Arsenal are unbeaten in their last four league games against their opponents, last having a longer such run against them between 1989-1992 (5 games).

9' Pogba looks to break onto Rashford's throughball but the Frenchman is quite clearly well offside and the assistant rightfully has his flag up on the far side.

8' There is a bit of confusion between De Gea and captain Maguire with the latter heading out for a second Arsenal corner, despite the Spanish goalkeeper being stood behind him waiting to catch Saka's deep cross.

7' The first corner of the game comes on the left-hand side which Willian takes, but he doesn't beat the first man and that is easy for United's defence to deal with.

6' Partey tries to fizz a pass into the feet of Lacazette but his touch is poor and United intercept. However, the hosts can't quite make it out their half as of yet and once again give the ball back to the visitors in the middle of the park.

5' Willian needlessly gives possession away near the centre circle and then drags Fernandes back to stop the counter-attack. The Portuguese midfielder clutches his face and Willian is perhaps lucky to escape a booking for that tactical foul.

3' Willian has two attempts to cross but fails to beat the towering pairing of Maguire and Lindelof, making it easy for the centre-backs to deal with the danger and clear down the pitch.

2' Maguire does well under the pressure of Lacazette to remain calm and retain possession, playing through Arsenal's high press as United work the ball from one side of the pitch to the other in the opening stages.

1' Referee Mike Dean blows his whistle to get this Premier League fixture under way!

The players are making their way out at Old Trafford and shortly the start of the game will be upon us.

This will be the first league meeting between the two sides in which both teams are in the bottom half of the table since October 1936.

Mikel Arteta makes 10 changes from Arsenal’s win over Dundalk, with Elneny the only man present in both line-ups. It also looks more like a back four here, as opposed to the usual three-man defence that Arteta often opts for.

Despite performing well in midweek, there is still no room for Donny van de Beek in United's Premier League starting XI. Rashford, after grabbing a 18-minute hat-trick against Leipzig, starts up top with Greenwood, while McTominay comes in in midfield.

SUBS: Nicolas Pepe, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Runar Alex Runarsson, Granit Xhaka, Shkodran Mustafi, Eddie Nketiah, Dani Ceballos.

ARSENAL (4-3-3): Bernd Leno; Hector Bellerin, Gabriel Magalhaes, Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney; Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny, Bukayo Saka; Alexandre Lacazette, Willian, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

SUBS: Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Axel Tuanzebe, Donny van de Beek, Dean Henderson, Brandon Williams, Edison Cavani.

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-1-2): David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Fred, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay; Bruno Fernandes; Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood.

Both teams come into this game after emphatic midweek victories in Europe over RB Leipzig and Dundalk respectively. Prior to that, in the league the hosts endured a stalemate against Chelsea, while the Gunners were defeated by Leicester City.

Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Percy Tau shines as super-sub Paul Mukairu fires Anderlecht past Royal Antwerp

The South Africa international delivered an impressive performance, while his Nigerian teammate scored the match-winner at Lotto Park

Percy Tau was in action as Paul Mukairu scored the only goal in Anderlecht’s 1-0 victory over Royal Antwerp in Sunday’s Belgian First Division A game.

Tau was handed his eighth start of the season following his eye-catching performances in his last two games, where he scored against OH Leuven and Kortrijk.

The South Africa international formed a three-man midfield along with Peter Zulj and Albert Sambi Lokonga.

The forward shone in the game to help the Purple and White secure their fifth win of the season at Lotto Park with Nigerian forward Mukairu coming off the bench to make a difference.

The first-half saw a few goal-mouth actions and both sides missed a number of scoring opportunities before the break.

After the restart, Anderlecht pushed for the opener and made some changes in their quest to realize their target, including introducing Mukairu for Sierra Leone international Mustapha Bundu in the 63rd minute.

The Nigerian forward, who is on loan from Turkish club Antalyaspor, wasted no time to announce himself in the encounter.

The 20-year-old broke the deadlock in the 76th minute with a well-taken strike after receiving a sumptuous pass from Lokonga.

The strike was all the Purple and White needed to secure victory in the encounter and move to fifth spot on the league table with 20 points from 11 matches.

Tau featured for 78 minutes before making way for Josh Cullen. He made five key passes and had 46 touches on the ball.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international Dieumerci Mbokani played for the entirety of the game but could not help his side avoid defeat.

Tau and Mukairu will hope to help Anderlecht continue their winning form when they take on Gent in their next league game on November 8.

Those people who say Orlando Pirates star Jele's finished don’t know what they’re talking about - Sangweni

Juventus were again heading for a 1-1 draw until Cristiano Ronaldo arrived from the bench, clear of coronavirus and in top form.

Cristiano Ronaldo returned from coronavirus to rescue Juventus from a third straight Serie A stalemate with a brace in their 4-1 win at Spezia on Sunday.

Andrea Pirlo's men had been held by both Crotone and Hellas Verona in the absence of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner before he finally tested negative on Friday and was cleared to make his comeback.

Ronaldo was still only fit enough to make the bench, however, and watched on as Alvaro Morata's opener was cancelled out by Tommaso Pobega in fortuitous fashion and the Bianconeri subsequently toiled.

Inevitably, Pirlo turned to his talisman and the 35-year-old netted just 126 seconds after his arrival, later converting a Panenka penalty for his second after fellow substitute Adrien Rabiot had all but secured a welcome victory.

Morata – denied three times by the offside flag against Barcelona in midweek – was grateful for a VAR review as he tapped in the opener from an onside position following Weston McKennie's unselfish square pass.

A second Morata goal was ruled out, however, and another decision went against Juve as Spezia levelled.

Pobega fired beyond Gianluigi Buffon with the aid of a deflection as the Bianconeri appealed in vain that M'Bala Nzola had made the telling touch while offside.

A sublime last-ditch Julian Chabot challenge denied Juan Cuadrado in front of the goal line late in the first half, but Pirlo did not wait long after the restart to introduce Ronaldo

The impact was immediate as the Portuguese rounded Ivan Provedel from Morata's pass to slot into the net.

While Juve survived another scare as Kevin Agudelo saw a leveller chalked off when Buffon spilled Chabot's header, Rabiot put the result beyond doubt, dancing through the Spezia defence and finishing via the post.

And when Federico Chiesa was clumsily tripped Paolo Bartolomei, Ronaldo clipped a cute spot-kick down the centre of the goal for number four.

What does it mean? Juve so reliant on Ronaldo

Any team would miss a player of Ronaldo's quality, but Juventus have won just seven of their 14 matches without the Portuguese since he signed in 2018 - hardly title-winning form.

Without a legal shot on target against Barca in the Champions League, the Bianconeri were struggling again until Ronaldo intervened to ensure they remain within four points of early leaders Milan.

He played just 34 minutes but no team-mate had more shots than his two – and both hit the net.

Morata making his mark

So frustrated by the officials last time out, Morata's perseverance paid off as he got his goal here – and an assist for Ronaldo to boot.

The Spanish striker was on the move throughout and, while that meant he was again caught offside on one occasion, going on to score, he caused Spezia real problems.

With Ronaldo back, there is the formation of an exciting partnership. Morata created two chances in total.

Buffon's blunders

While one veteran got Juve over the line, another threatened to derail them.

A deflection understandably deceived Buffon for Spezia's goal, but he was fortunate to escape with the offside second equaliser, making a mess of one of only two saves.

What's next?

Juve return to Champions League action at Ferencvaros on Wednesday, while Spezia do not play again until Saturday's trip to Benevento.

The former AC Milan striker admits that he was "not a good manager" and is pleased to be out of the profession

Netherlands legend Marco van Basten has claimed that being a manager is bad for your health.

As a player, Van Basten was one of the outstanding forwards of his generation, scoring a memorable goal for the Netherlands in the 1988 European Championship final against the USSR and starring for the likes of Ajax and AC Milan.

Injury forced him to retire and, in 2004, he moved into management. He had stints with the Netherlands, Ajax, Heerenveen and AZ, but admits that the job wasn’t for him and he is delighted to no longer be doing it.

“I’m not a good manager,” he told The Guardian . “I can train players and talk about football. But losing as a manager was so painful, I couldn’t live with it.

"As a manager you have to be positive to your guys, as a father to his sons, and that was one thing I really didn’t have.

“The profession is also bad for your health. When I became the assistant, I was intelligent and helpful. I had patience. As the head coach I was completely the opposite.

“I made a good decision to get out. I’m now doing other things and feel much freer. I do some business and work for television, talking about football. I still have a nice wife, nice children, two grandchildren. We’re all healthy. So I’m enjoying life.”

Meanwhile, he believes he was lucky to enjoy the career he did, despite having to hang up his boots aged just 28.

“I don’t have any pain but I am limited,” he said. “I can’t play tennis or football. But I play squash and I am thankful.

“Looking back I was feeling it was a pity I couldn’t finish my career after winning more [Champions League titles]. I wanted to show more of myself.

“Some players have 18 years in football. But some players are injured before they start. When I thought like that I said: ‘If I compare with that, I have been very lucky. At least I had 10 years of a beautiful experience that changed my life for ever.’”

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Mngqithi issues update on Zwane injury

Phunya Sele Sele have an advantage thanks to Ndumiso Mabena's strike as the two teams eye a place in the final

SuperSport United fought back to hold Bloemfontein Celtic to a 1-1 draw in the 2020 MTN8 semi-final first-leg match which was played at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Siwelele took the lead through Ndumiso Mabena in the first half, but his strike was cancelled out by Ghampani Lungu's goal after the restart.

Matsatsantsa were wounded after succumbing to a 3-1 defeat to Lamontville Golden Arrows in a PSL clash in midweek which was their first defeat of the season.

Coach Kaitano Tembo named an offensive-minded team with strikers Iqraam Rayners, Thamsanqa Gabuza and Bradley Grobler deployed in attack ahead of playmaker Ghampani Lungu.

While Phunya Sele Sele were also coming off their maiden defeat of the season having suffered a 1-0 loss to Swallows FC in a league clash on Wednesday.

Ndumiso Mabena made his first appearance of the campaign for coach John Maduka's side and the Celtic captain, who had recovered from an injury, was partnered with Victor Letsoalo upfront.

SuperSport dominated possession in the opening exchanges, but they looked vulnerable at the back whenever they lost the ball and they were punished by Mabena.

The hosts lost possession in midfield and Letsoalo quickly sent Mabena through on goal and the former Orlando Pirates striker made no mistake as he scored to make it 1-0 to Celtic in the 14th minute.

Matsatsantsa tried to respond with a goal, but Bradley Grobler placed his volleyed effort over the crossbar without troubling Jackson Mabokgwane in the visitors' goal-posts.

Celtic's two frontmen Letsoalo and Mabena were able to penetrate the hosts' defence with ease with the experienced duo of Bongani Khumalo and Clayton Daniels struggling to contain them.

Letsoalo had two good goalscoring opportunities, but he was brilliantly denied by SuperSport keeper Ronwen Williams twice with Tembo's side living dangerously at the back.

Celtic were deservedly leading 1-0 at the interval with Mabena having netted an important away goal for the Free State giants.

The Tshwane giants came back fired up following their half-time team talk with their Zimbabwean tactician Tembo and they managed to level matters through Lungu.

The Zambia international scored from close range to make it 1-1 in the 50th minute after his initial shot was blocked on the goal-line with the Celtic defence in sixes and sevens.

Phunya Sele Sele then suffered a blow as Mabokgwane went down injured and the former Bafana Bafana international was replaced by Sipho Chaine.

The momentum was with SuperSport in the closing stages of the match with Tembo having introduced attackers Moses Waiswa and Evans Rusike.

However, the Siwelele defence was solid and compact and the hosts resorted to long-range shots with Waiswa and Teboho Mokoena both missing the target from outside the box.

Ultimately, the match ended in a 1-1 draw and Celtic are set to host SuperSport in the second-leg clash at Dr Molemela Stadium on Saturday, November 7.

The winner on aggregate will take on either Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs in the final with the former having secured a 3-0 win in the first-leg encounter at home on Saturday.

'Messi, arguably the best ever' – Google CEO leads tributes to the Argentine superstar

The Borussia Monchengladbach defender is impressive in the present and has a bright future, according to the 1990 World Cup star

Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter has been favourably compared to Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos by Germany legend Lothar Matthaus.

Only defending champions Bayern Munich and third-placed RB Leipzig have conceded fewer goals than Gladbach in the early weeks of the Bundesliga season, and much of that is due to the influence of Ginter, Matthaus has claimed.

The centre-back, who has not missed a second of action for his side this season, turns 27 in January and the World Cup winner believes that his best is ahead of him.

"Ginter has become a leader at the back, in a similar way to Ramos at Real," Matthaus told Sky Deutschland.

"He doesn't just give instructions to his team-mates but leads them as well. That's what Ginter is doing really well at the moment. He reminds me of Ramos."

Matthaus has argued that there has been a change in the approach of the Germany international, who has won 33 caps for his country and contributed a couple of goals.

“He's full of confidence nowadays, and has become a big personality,” he said. “In the past, he wasn't as vocal and tended to follow the pack. Now he's taking on responsibility and making important decisions - defensively and in attack.”

With a contract that expires in less than two years, the defender should be seen as a priority for his side, who must retain him, in Matthaus’ opinion.

“His current contract is up in 2022, but Borussia need to sit down with him and tie him down for longer,” he said. “Ginter has made huge strides of late, and is only going to get better.”

Monchengladbach scored a notable 1-0 win over Leipzig on Saturday thanks to a goal from Hannes Wolf, moving them up to fourth in the Bundesliga standings.

They will tackle Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday, a match that has been selected for one of the early kick-off slots.

They have drawn their first two matches in the European competition, against Inter and Real Madrid.

Red cards fly as U.S. trounces Mexico in NL semi

The Ivory Coast international registered his second goal of the season to help his side continue their winning form at Stadio Friuli

Franck Kessie was on the scoresheet as AC Milan secured a 2-1 victory over Udinese in Sunday’s Serie A game.

The 23-year-old midfielder was handed his fifth league start and shone, helping the Red and Blacks to extend their unbeaten run.

Kessie played in front of the back-four along with Algeria international Ismael Bennacer in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The San Siro outfit started the game on an impressive note, dictating the pace and dominating the possession in the opening 30 minutes.

They were soon rewarded for their efforts when Bennacer sent in a well-taken cross into the box which was controlled by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the 39-year-old set up Kessie, who fired home his effort.

Udinese made a spirited effort to level proceedings before the half-time break but were resisted by AC Milan’s defence.

After the restart, Luca Gotti’s men continued to press for an equalizer and got it in the 48th minute when Alessio Romagnoli brought down Ignacio Pussetto in the area.

Rodrigo De Paul swiftly dispatched the resulting penalty into the back of the net to bring his side back into contention in the encounter.

Ibrahimovic then scored the all-important winning goal with seven minutes left to play when he fired an overhead-kick beyond the reach of goalkeeper Juan Musso.

Kessie featured for the duration of the game, made 105 touches, the highest from any player in the encounter, and had a 92% successful pass rate besides his goal.

Bennacer, meanwhile, played for 57 minutes in his sixth league appearance for Stefano Pioli’s men in the current campaign before he was replaced by Sandro Tonali.

The victory helped AC Milan to extend their lead at the top of the league, having now secured 16 points from six games.

Kessie, who has two goals in 11 appearances across all competitions this season will hope to continue his fine performances when Milan take on Lille in a Europa League game on November 5.

Thomas Tuchel claims Premier League substitution rule is a 'huge disadvantage' against Real Madrid

The Colombia star has impressed since his arrival from Real Madrid and his team-mate says he has learned a lot from him

Yerry Mina has hailed James Rodriguez as a "top player" and says the midfielder has had an uplifting impact at Everton.

The Colombia international joined the Toffees from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, reuniting with Carlo Ancelotti, who coached him in Spain and at Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old has scored and assisted three goals in the Premier League this season to help guide his side to second place after six games.

Mina has been impressed by his Colombia co-star's form so far, telling AS: "Many doubted his quality, but he has shown that he is a top player.

"He trains well, eats well, spends all day thinking about things that will improve him. In one day with him you realise that he is a top professional.

"I have learned a lot from him and I want to continue learning, on and off the pitch. We are always together and I take the opportunity to observe and learn.

"He has the advantage that before receiving the ball he already knows where to play it and that gives us enormous agility in the attacks.

"It has brought us closer together in terms of speed for the transition. In addition, he always wants to win and that is also contributing to the character of the team."

Everton started the Premier League campaign with four wins, but collected just one point from their last two matches heading into Sunday's clash at Newcastle.

"Except for the game against Southampton, things were going well. I'm thankful to God for that," Mina said when asked about his side's positive start.

"We worked well in pre-season, which has not been easy due to the Covid-19 issue, because we have had problems getting together to work, but we are on the right track thanks to the attitude of the players, the coaching staff and the club's facilities.

"That is what has brought us to the top. We must go step by step. We don't think of anything else, no matter how much people say.

"We have to continue as a family, because this is how things are going to turn out."
